Loose Spokes Sponsored Cycling Club for All Ages (Lake Effect Cycle Club)

Enrollment

With the graduation of the Loose Spokes Juniors it is our sincere privilege to announce the second year of the cycling club. The club will begin open enrollment immediately and formally on February 15, 2008. The membership drive will last until April 15th.  New members will receive a special welcome packet provided by the shop and its suppliers along with the opportunity to purchase a club jersey at discount. The club jersey is the familiar but updated Loose Spokes Cycling jersey and is available for purchase now! New enrollees will have a two week window once they have paid their club membership dues of just $50.00 with an annual renewal fee of just $30.00 for the entire season to receive a discount on the club jersey. The club season is from April 15 to April 15 of each year. Those who sign up and pay after the April 15 open enrollment period will pay the season rate as there are no prorated memberships. 

What does your club fee cover?

Club membership monies collected will help pay for the club jerseys along with other club expenses and future goals of the club including hosted rides, sponsored charities and other club functions. New members will have a voice in the club by way of vote and attending monthly club meetings where club rides and other club functions will be planned and coordinated. 

Meeting

There will be a general meeting of prospective members for all other information about the club and its purposes and goals to be held on Thursday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the bike shop. Refreshments will be served. You will need to plan on spending approximately one hour to discuss the future of the club and beginning your involvement in this exciting organization.

This initial meeting will lay the ground work for the season and those who attend will be given the opportunity to offer leadership as ride captains and coordinators of special events. The shop will offer a limited time discount to those first meeting attendees who select a position of leadership of 15% off of their cycling needs on regularly priced special brand product the store has to offer that will save the prospective club member on some very special merchandise up through the April 15 enrollment deadline.

Specials 

For first year members there is a special offer being extended for a limited time only. For those paid supporters of the club in its first year (Loose Spokes Juniors) the membership dues will be considered paid in full for one year. There will be no renewal fee for this upcoming year for returning members of the Juniors into the new (name pending) club. They will of course be offered the same discount afforded new members for their club jersey.

New members can also earn points redeemable for in store credits for each new paid member they enroll. The details of these programs and others will be covered at the February 21, 2008 organizational meeting.
